We Need Your Help!
by posted 06/27/2019

Do you have a player on a CCLL summer baseball team?  Are you looking for a way to earn back your spring season volunteer refund?  Or maybe you have, and still want to help support CCLL?  We have good news for you!

CCLL is hosting three post-season tournaments this summer!  This is the 3rd year we have hosted tournaments and we would like this to continue however, we need your help!

We will be hosting tournaments for three consecutive weeks:

1) July 6-12 (12 year olds) - Google doc sign up sheet is HERE
2) July 13-19 (9 year olds) - sign up sheet is HERE
3) July 20-26 (11 year olds) - sign up sheet is HERE

There are 5 types of slots available;
  1. Field prep:  This is pretty straightforward, this requires raking, watering the field between games (or setting up the field for the first game of the day) and lining the field with chalk.  Each shift takes about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Snack shack:  another role that is pretty straightforward; requires manning the snack shack at each field, collecting of money, re-stocking the snack shack ares with items as needed. In addition, signing up for the first game game requires setting up the tables, etc, and signing up for the last game of the day requires breaking down the tables and putting the items away in the storage bins.  This shift is about 2.5 hours (a little longer for those who sign up for first or last game of the day)
  3. Announcer:  this involves "calling the action" of the game - introducing the players before each at bat, keeping he scoreboard up to date with score and balls/strikes.  Shift lasts for the duration of the game (plus a bit more before and after each game), approximately 2-2.5 hours.
  4. Game coordinator:  this involves oversight of each game and making sure things are running smoothly during the game, and that the pitching affidavits are in order, etc.  This person would be responsible for contacting the Tournament Director (Melanie Tirrell) if something needs attention (missing volunteers, items need to stack snack shack, making sure jugs of water for players are filled, empty trash cans at the end of the day, etc.  Shift lasts about 2-2.5 hours.
  5. Ice/donut delivery:  again this is pretty straighforward; need someone to get donuts and ice before a the morning game, and ice for all other games (league will reimburse you for ice/donuts).  Each shift is about 30 minutes

Please help support CCLL this summer!
